My laptop (not this one obviously) has decided it's not connecting to my wireless router anymore. The laptop uses windows7. Any ideas how I could sort this or is it possible for something to go inside the comp to stop me connecting? I've already tried looking in control panel but the router doesn't seem to be showing up in there and I'm not that tech minded.

I tried to disable and then enable the adapter again but it just keeps saying "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

Any ideas? It used to work but just stopped working?

Hi mate, is it using a "built in" wireless adaptor? or are you plugging an external one into the usb?

Some of them have a switch on the side etc to turn the wireless on/off it may be as simple as that?

lets know the make/model of the laptop mate if you are stuck.

ok mate, probably quickest way is to get the latest drivers from dell.

goto here on the working laptop Drivers & Downloads

and download the drivers for the wireless card you have, I'm guessing you know what type it is? and how to check?

on your dell, go into network and sharing (right click on network icon bottom right of screen)

and then top left of screen it should say manage wireless networks, click on that and then remove the network you are trying to connect to.

save the above to a memory stick or cd and put it onto your dell, probably better to uninstall the old drivers from the dell also, if you know how to mate?

then try installing the new drivers.

and maybe reboot and try to connect to your network again, you'll need the password, if you know it like?
