My comments are both teams were rubbish!

The brave new dawn that was predicted with the Eddie Jones, the new coach of England, failed to materialise. The improvement of Scotland from the World Cup also failed to materialise.

Two poor teams playing out a poor game.

Wales V Ireland today, showed where we need to be, but never will.

A long road for both teams.

            mark m8,
your right about the poor show, but we have point's on the board.
watched a better game today, it's going to warm up.
            hope.

couldn't agree more but Jones had to have a look at what was what, unfortunately he can't make changes to squad now unless a few get injured, should see more over the next year. Slight improvement in the scrummaging although Cole still a liability with the number of pens he gives away, he never used to, ? on Marlers scrummaging, Jones might work the Japanese magic on him. Although Haskell played well he is not quick enough for open side, we need a couple of quick flankers then we can compete at winning the ball with the All Blacks and Aussies. Billy was rightly man of the match with his runs, but Steve Thompson used to do that for England and he was the hooker, No 8 should be a link with the backs as well and off load Billy didn't do it once, look at Falatou he was linking with the Welsh backs quite often. With a total failure at fly half not being able to link up with his backs Ford should not play again, his kicking was abysmal out of hand, straight down Hoggs throat and didn't even follow up which Hogg did and flattened him, Cipriani has to come into the team. Played Farrell for his kicking which on the day was 50/50 England backs looked good when the ygot the ball, mostly via a forwards hands but didn't get enough.
As Dave says none of the other teams looked anywhere as good as Wales and Ireland and they won't compete with the top three Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and maybe Argentina if they keep improving.

Sorry to busy to take on an assistants role for Jones

Competitive weekend of rugby but lacked a bit of quality that Southern Hemisphere teams ooze.

England's 10/12 axis isn't there as they both want to play 10 and the back row still lacks balance and is crying out for an out an out open side.

Hardly a new dawn for England but at least its a winning start! I was expecting much more from the scots aswell after the RWC performances.

picked my grandson up from scholl tonight, he is seven but loves his rugby, he was asking if I saw the match, he thought it was rubbish, but he came out with "why dosn't George Ford get rid of the ball" in other words pass. Thought Eddie Jones did well when Gaby Roslin asked him about Mr Ford.
