hello all, i`m getting back into boat fishing after about 20 years. what weight sinkers for coastal and what weight jiggers for wrecking would be suitable, i`ll be off the tyne or down hartlepool. also what bs line would you recommend.
Welcome to the forum Simpa, keep a range of weights to suit varying wind/tide speeds, i keep 6oz, 10oz and 1lb on the boat. Same for pirks, keep a range of different weights i keep 7oz, 10oz and 1lb.
50lb braid is what i use and i think you will find 90% of the lads on here will use braid, unless uptiding.
You could have posted this thread in the boat angling section, but no worries.
When the tide and wind drop and no drifting i've used 3oz spinners on the rough ground and had cod on them. The boat record was caught on a 6oz pirk in 170 feet of water. Great sport, but i would'nt try it on a boat with 12 anglers on it
