  • Van Halen/Chickenfoot

For anyone into their rock music, Chickenfoot (Joe Satriani, Chad Smith, Michael Anthony & Sammy Hagar) have their 2nd album (confusingly titled III) out 27th September with the first single due next month. If you haven't heard the first Chickenfoot album I can certainly recommend it quite highly, yes the band name is just plain silly.
If anyone works around Cobalt and see's a fat geezer wearing a black t-shirt with a logo that looks like a botched peace symbol then that's the Chickenfoot logo and I'll be the fat geezer inside the shirt.

Van Halen are supposed to have a new album out in the autumn also. Van Halen now being the original line-up with DLR singing but minus Michael Anthony who was replaced by Eddie's teenage son back in 2007-ish. I said "supposed" because there's been new studio album rumours from them year after year for over a decade... I'm holding back my excitement and belief that they've actually recorded anything until I have a CD in my hand.
I'm not really that fussed about a new album with Dave singing to be honest, I was always a Hagar fan even long before he joined =VH= when they split with Dave in the mid 80's, but we'll see.

Hope the Van halen album sees the light of day. Also got Maiden tickets

I was lucky enough to get to Sonisphere at Knebworth this year and in one day saw Diamondhead, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Metallica ( the band I really went to see ) Killing joke and Hayseed Dixie. Was knackered at end of day but it was awesome.

Maiden was a great night....I felt a bit of a turd in a punchbowl with me pink checky shirt on, surrounded by tens of thousands of people either dressed in black or with Maiden t-shirts....Still was handy for the lads coming back from the toilet as I was so easy to spot!

Was a good night Must admit I though the support band Airbourne were very good and Maiden who I freely admit are not my favourite band did put on a good show. Was bloody hot up at the front though

The night ended well, I caught the drum skin / top that Nicko threw out and flew like a frisbee Nice message on it and signed by a couple of the band. Gave it straight to my son who was with me, he was chuffed to bits. He had a few cash offers for it on the way out

Thinking about Motorhead next City hall November

Just got back from seeing Maiden in Faro Portugal, they were very good
I like to remember VH back from 1984 at Donnington when they were at their best IMO.
