Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Venom are massive in Eastern Europe,Poland,Austria Old East Germany area\'s,not sure about the states though,I\'ve lost touch with the Speed Metal scene,One of the band members lives across the road from my sister in law,he is not well off, just a ordinary two bedroom house, nowt special by any means, really nice lad by all accounts. He told her he is always in Poland and Germany, thats why I was\'nt sure about the States thing.
Clare,I remember Fat Sams well suppose you went to the Mayfair as well,oh and Trillians, happy days eh
              Cheers Alan...

Now then Sless me old mate !, it certainly IS a small world mate !. THE INVICTORS - was your uncle called Harry Brown by any chance and did he used to live on the High Road in South Shields ?. I think the band consisted of Harry Brown, Ray Barrett, Jimmy Gray and Vince Edwards. Jimmy Gray, (the drummer), is my cousin and after his spells with the local bands he played at the Latino/Tavern followed by spells in the local CIU clubs. He also played at the Cleadon Club for quite a while during the 70s mate. Vince Edwards changed his name to J. Vincent Edwards (I think Im correct), and he went off to the continent where he was very popular as a solo singer. He returned to this country and found fame as the voice behind \"Stars on 45 pints\" and their record was really good. They basically took the mick out of the whole CIU clubland scene and went down a bomb.

                        cheers. mate.
                        george.

Hello TC mate. - THE NEW ATLANTEANS, (named after the new buses that had just come into service in South Shields !), became THE HIPPY URGE became the URGE. All were fronted by John Miles. I used to see them at the Boys Brigade dance in Westoe Village on Saturday nights. None of the lads actually went there to dance mind, we only went to listen to the groups mate. John Miles hasnt done too badly though Tony, backing the likes of Joe Cocker and Tina Turner. Makes me wish I had stayed in and practiced the guitar a bit more !

                          cheers.
                          george.
