Gill Scott Heron at The Goldsmith\'s Tavern He\'d played a massive show somewhere and was in the UK for a few more days, apparently he\'d asked to be taken to The Ghetto after being sucked up to and cosseted by his tour machine. Someone took him south of the river to see some proper dealings. Popped into The Goldsmith\'s which was a squatted pub in Deptford and arranged to play an impromtu session the next day. Managed to get in, 200 people there, absolutely tremendous. Best times have been at Parties though. CASTLEMORTON ****ing rocked for days, and days and days .................................................. ..................and days

then I felt a bit poorly for a while (About 6 years )

Great to read the replies and realise that most of NESA has the same musical tastes as me (if that is a good thing lol)

Feel guilty admitting that I didn\'t mention the 1982 Mob Rules Black Sabbath tour at the City Hall and the 1981(?) Rush Hemispheres World Tour.

Used to roadie for \"The Brat Pack\" and \"White Knight\" for the Shields lads who get to the Office or anybody who used to get to that pub in \"No Place\" - the something mary???

Alanf - who was your favourite Ozzy guitarist??

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

I know what you mean Rob. About two years ago I was bar manager in a bar just outside Consett. We had a band that did probably the best gig I have ever seen. Unfortunately they have split up now but don\'t think I will ever see better. They were called Crashburn Molley, not the best name in the world but I think they could have had a great future if not for the demon drink. shame.

                Jim.

White Knights drummer, Mark Winter used to be my brother in law and I went to school with him and Darren Cooper. Remember Phil Farrel from his Mandora days. My other ex brother in law, Paul Binyon, (another from Chuter Ede Comp) used to sing and play bass in Cover Story.

Everyone remembers Randy Rhodes as their favorite Ozzy guitarist (including me) but what about the grandaddy of heavy metal, Tony Iommi? I can still play most of the old Sabbath stuff and it still rocks!
