  • Since it's Quiet .......

While the wind is blowing and the rain is well ... raining, I have after some amount of asking put up a "how to" page for machining weight moulds on my slinkykate.com website along with a few pictures of successes to date ...

If they are of anyones interest they are here ...

    homepage ............... Home
    weight moulds page.... Weight Moulds
CNC "How to" page .... CNC Machining

I hope this is of interest to a few, please feel free to feedback on the site.

Merry Xmas and A Happy New Year to All ..

Well engineered Norman. I have worked in production engineering all my life & have used cadcam for over 35 years & never thought you could produce a quality product on a small budjet. I us solidworks & delcam. The software we use for design & programming our £0.5 machines cost £20k at least.
    Well impressed.
I will only be out for a couple of hours pet.

Toppa website you've built there mate. I haven't looked at an ISO program for years since I moved over to mazak M/Cs.

Do you machine all of your moulds on that desk top mill? And what control does it use?
          All the gear, no idea.

Yeah mate I'm familiar with mazatrol

All the moulds are made on the one machine, very slow with small cuts as its really just a hobby engraving machine and it's working way outside of its comfort zone

The control is mach3 software outputting through lpt1 port on PC under Windows xp

              Cheers

Good stuff Norman. Must feel like it takes forever with the 0.1 cuts. Thanks for the links. Helped me get through toy story for the 400th time this week.

                    Hi Dave,

Designed my own to be sleeker, its called the slinky speed pirk, in the pictures on site

Comes with either engraved scales and weight or blank finish for a faster drop and the ability to stick on transfers

                    cheers
