Hmm just seen the weather forcast and the camera may well be out again in the morning. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh airports shut and the snow is moving south.

Breaking news - just seen a gritter going along Whitley Road !!!!! Rarer than hens teeth these days.

3 of the 4 roads into the village here are still blocked/closed because of the damn stuff and its snowing heavy again now

had to demolish the icicles with a sledgehammer this morning before they killed someone

I'm seriously starting to wonder how mankind survived the last Ice Age.....god the majority of Europe was under a mile of the stuff then and services didn't collapse!!!!

No post for 2 weeks now, because as I was told today from my local sorting office , 'the authorities have stated that if a journey is not important, then you shouldn't be out'...Even though the main road is clear 20 odd yards from where I live.
I have to take a days holiday or take unpaid leave if I can't get in.....

And now to really tip me over the edge (Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down' style), The local garage has no Petrol!!!!!.......And to top it all he has added another 1p onto his extortionate prices just to add insult to injury!.....Rant over and I'm away for a burger!

hey Rory, same at my sisters place near Chopwell Woods, they're in a tiny village and were told that if they wanted their post then they'd have to go collect it themselves!

At least, unlike the last ice-age, we're not having to resort to going out and clubbing our next meal over the head.... well except in Marks case that is!

I have been informed that apparently there is huge wagon at the sorting office, full of parcels that they won't even look at until they have got on top of the letters.....Hope nobody has anything important that they require urgently....Like the hooks I ordered 2 weeks ago from veals!GRRRRRR

clubbing may be me only method of getting a fish without hooks mate!....

hasn't been a collection nor a delivery of post in this village now for nearly 2 weeks

really starting to cheese me off. I even rang and asked if they could leave the post at the post office in Stanhope for collection, was told I couldn't do that either, so have to sit and wait....

Local shop in Whitley bay got a supply of Wellies last Thursday, bought some for the daughter, cost £15.00. Went back next day for another pair for 2nd daughter, price now £20.00. Nice work if you can get it

gonna be a cold one tonight. was out chipping coal out of the bunker at 2pm in the sunshine... thermometer read minus 9

on a plus note, 3 pheasants and a pair of grouse have taken up residence in the garden nicking the bird food, so have been putting out loads of extra corn to encourage them to stick around and fatten em up for christmas!
