Anyone tried it before? Had my first "attempt" over in Drummore last week. In this shot you see Jupiter top centre,Drummore seafront at the bottom and our neghbours caravan on the right.
Think you all might know this one

if you can lock the bulb on your camera, you can take a mega long exposure shot.
focus the camera on the north star, you need a triod for this.
then you will have a in focus north star that never moves, and all of the other stars will leave a circular light trail from the earths movement, dosnt take to long to do.
If you're photographing the moon use a fast exposure - might be dark all around you but the albedo from the moon is very bright, long exposure will give you a big white ball without the shadow details.
Took a few more trials on our caravan park first. Even there is light pollution you can still make out the Milky Way. Thats our caravan top left
This was still on the caravan park but pointed away from the lights
Got into star trails and even managed to get a few shots of the Aurora Borealis(blurred) over on the Mull of Galloway. Will post more up when I get them sorted out.
