An evening stroll along the front at Gourock. Mackerel aren't in yet, so no fishing, just walking!

I have never heard of a ray or a huss being caught in the upper Clyde, dogfish definitely, very small codling(about 1lb tops), whiting and coalies, nothing of any size at all. Some OK wrasse around the custom house in Greenock and the odd conger.

Trawlers emptied the Clyde in the 80's with the abolition of the 3 mile limit and prawn trawlers keep it that way to this day. An absolute disgrace from the way it used to be. It will never recover.
