  • MP\'s expenses

anyone listen to the debate this week with MP\'s asking for an increase in their motoring expenses to 57p per mile??

How do they get a away with it?? The Inland revenue rules state the maximum that is allowable for mileage is 39p for us mere mortals. But MP\'s believe they are above all that and entitled to almost double!

to quote george orwell \"all men are equal...but soem men are more equal than others\"

at 57p a mile, a newcastle mp could claim 342 quid for petrol for driving to london and back

      if they could justify it,all well and good.I\'ve tried to,believe me I have,and I can only justify 56p a mile.Mind you thats just being a GREEDY,CONNIVING,NON TRUTH TELLING,IMBECILIC MORON.(Or an MP).

This is one of the reasons that I voted against the bloody regional assembly. Why the hell should we stump up once again to give these people massive financial perks ?. I can remember when they said that wage raises were to be capped at something like 1.5% then went on to vote themselves massive raises. It seems that they argue like hell against each other in Parliament but when it comes to debating big raises for themselves its a case of all pals together !. BLOODY STINKS !

mps will only vote on whats best for the mps if they voted on what was good for the people everything would be fine and dandy and theyd be out of a job so itl never happen, youd think the money was coming out of there own pockets and it probly is in there eyes

there all useless, most fall asleep during debates and when there awake they act like overgrown kids, theres very few i could say i liked and those few are from the north east ,mr blair not included

I was reading an article in the scotsman recently which had a breakdwn of scottish MP\'s expenses breakdown woth a list of their \'performance\'

one clocked up 145k in expenses over 12months. he attended only 4 sessions of parliamnet, has never asked a question in parliament and hasn\'t sat on any comitees. Now, He\'s either very consciencious and is beavering away in his constituency, or is just plain idle........I wonder which one it is!

the MSP with the smallest expenses claim was George Gallaway, that labour bad boy and supposed supporter of saddam hussein (although we only have tony\'s word for that). he was also one of the ones with the best attendance record and asked lots of questions of the first minister

Performance related pay for MP\'s?? Imagine them agreeing to that!
