last couple of years I\'ve been, there\'s been a queue right out to the car park to get in on saturday morning. My advice would be go back on sunday afternoon. We did last year and everything was at least half the price again from the saturday. They were virtually giving it away come 4 oclock
Greys platinum Xi fly reel rrp £109, got one for a fiver on sunday afternoon. Hardy gem fly rod, from 279 to 45 quid, and its a complete work of art - it weighs under 2 ounces!,
got a greys apollo for 50 and an orion for 35 fly lines at a fiver instead of 50 quid, loads of clothing.
gutted I\'m gonna miss it as I\'m in scotland, but will try make a detour on the way back
there wasn\'t masses of sea gear, just a few greys rods, but loads of game gearʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.
Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Am away then.
How often do they have them? Got into fishing about 18 months ago and first rod was Greys GRX fly rod. Have heard mixed things about sea rods, mostly from dealers! Have a Penn Viper (not evo 1 though I assumed it was when I bought it). Would an Orion be an upgrade or not?

Colossus....They had one last New Year...can\'t remember if they had one the year B4 that. Their rods are fantastic...I\'ve had the Apollo M1 for 3 years and the only problem I had was wjen I slipped and fell on the rod and stand and snapped the butt ( my fault, 15 stone git falling on top of anything isn\'t helpful). Butt replaced FOC and got a new reelseat instead of coasters FOC. Haven\'t used the Orion but I think Tony C\'s lad uses one.
Alan.. I think they had one of them old fashioned swipe things for the debit cards last year, but don\'t quote me. Better to take the missus\'s housekeeping money when she\'s not looking just in case. You can always replace it later. Mind the more money you have the more you\'ll spend.
Still no idea of times, but will probably find out Thursday when the Gazette comes out!"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

Take the slip road off the A1 into Alnwick, drive about 200 yds and there\'s a junction....You want to turn left here and follow the road up about another 150yds yds, turn right here and you canna miss it.going ahead takes you into town , turning right takes you back up onto the A1 or Shilbottle. Will find out about payment for you."And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

Aye you\'re right, Rory.....our Ian\'s got an Orion and he loves it. Mind you, since he got his Apollo, the Orion\'s taken a back seat.
Colossus, not having used the Penn rod, I couldn\'t say whether ot not the Orion would be \"an upgrade\". What I can say, is that I\'ve used Ians\' Orion and found it a VERY good rod for beach & pier. I think it would probably be a bit too light for fishing the rough stuff, though.
Depends where you\'d be wanting to use it, I suppose.
