If ever there was a moment in 2009 that restored my faith that this country has not totally gone to the dogs it is the trouncing of Cowell and Co from their "guaranteed" Number 1 spot at Christmas

I don't think the song was ever the real point, more the sentiment behind it...
Ooh a new vid!

rage agains t the machine is awesome nowt like listenin to bullet in the head and killin in the name of when your on the way coddin ,puts ya right in the zone ,agree about cowell glad hes lost summat the tossa
did eeerrrr ya snap it off like?thats a shame teeeheeeeheeeheeee and take your rubbish home and dont be a meth
epic is part of sony and cowell is part of sony, but RATM are not part of cowells sony portfolio
apart from anything else, a big heap of cash has been raised for Shelter - Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity - choose your location, as RATM are giving the cash to them, and you've got to be pretty heartless to not see that as a better place for money to go at christmas than cowell's coffers
plus RATM are giving a free concert next year to raise more cash for shelter
so cowell's ego gets a battering & the homeles get a few much needed quids
win win IMHO

Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
Sorry Folks, I just find the whole thing disgusting (along with the fake free votes via the downloads for either side)
Seems its just now out of the hands of "what anyone wants to hear at xmas" and just a greedy politicians view of which media giant should win the most (looks like sony did well !)
come back slade with "Here it is merry xmas"
(looks like we were posting at the same time mark, but personally I think its loose, loose)
What I wish for next Christmas is the good old fashioned Christmas number 1...had our works party on friday just gone and every Christmas related song that was played was over 20 years old
Media giants coining it in aside, what we've at least had this year is a touch of anarchy perpetrated by the masses...what could be done on more important issues if people pulled together in the same way??
Ooh a new vid!

Sorry Tone, I disagree, what we`ve had this year is a pile of sh1te , one re-gurgetated song from a "karaoke" style lad (although starting out on his career so may come to better - we`ll see!) and one ancient track that I`ve yet to hear anyone play in full.
As I`m sure you know my personal views are the old rock tracks so maybe I ought to have errer on the rock side , but hell no way in this politimucians crap world.
It looks like due to technology the moment is gone on music and the charts, its now in control of the "i-media" which as we know is uncontrollable ..........
ps it werent perpetuated by the masses, it was perpetuated by the techies .................... how much my friend did you spend on the rock song ? (spend , not vote)

maybe this one for next years inevitable anti x-factor campaign

I did not spend a penny...I was not prepared to line their coffers, I am a fence sitting anarchist but nevertheless I do feel that despite the system being run by mass corporations there was an element of anarchic freedom being exercised by people
as to you hearing the Rage song in full I doubt you ever will unless you download it as it contains 17 uses of the F Word
there was another facebook group that wanted the original Journey song to get to number 1 instead although that one only had 20 od thousand members
At the end of the day Joe will be number 1 next week anyway...and we can all get on with fishing
Ooh a new vid!

RATM are one brilliant band. If you've seen them live you'll know exactly what I mean.
I admire their music I totally agree with their politics and have I've worn RATM T-Shirts for years much to the annoyance of the wife who keeps saying "you're nearly 60 when are you going to grow up"
Well I'm afraid it's going to have to stop now 'cos people will think I'm just jumping on the bandwagon and I certainly can't have that.
Does anyone know where I can get a Shakin' Stevens T-shirt?
