Keep off the beer, keep yourself well fed and stay on deck looking into the distance not close up like tying rigs or reading. If you need some chemical help look up stugeron or Kwells, ginger also helps. I rely on tea and chocolate biscuits. If your mate doesn't mind, take the wheel for a while.

    Good luck.

It's all in the mind, just keep catching fish and you won't have time to feel sick
        Cheers, Keith.

Also try not to talk / think about it.

I had about a dozen trips out last year and I was seasick on one of them, it was bad aswell. I had been out in worse, it wasnt the calmest day and a couple other lads were sick but it was getting spoken about a lot and I think it got into my head.

Your first trip might be a hard one reg, choose a calm day

Sorry Keith but you're not telling the truth. My mind has many compartments and I can compartmentalize it depending on my circumstances.......except for one.......lol.

Not looking at close objects I would agree with, many's the time I've baited up with worms, which I can do eyes closed and managed to survive a trip off but having to tie a crab or mussel on, or lose the lot and have to tie a new set on and I'm on the way out.

Drink and food didn't have a real effect, I could be ill on both or neither. Same with pills - the main effect was to put me to sleep afterwards. A shallow sea, with tide against the wind I could handle but that slow roll, regardless of size always did me in.

From your point of view Reg, if you go south to the hard ground off Burnmouth or Berwick it's shallow and, in my experience, rather lumpy. Good luck.

Funny thing was I always thought it was worth the price just to get afloat.

never been sea sick myself but have been told by others that diluted orange juice is quite good, as for catching loads of fish to keep your mind off it, it dosn't, I had friends Jim Douglas and Sean Blake out with me, Sean was sick all the time he was catching and they where coming in one after another, he caught more than me and Jim simply because we where laughing that much.

For you and Jim substitute the Old Man and Brian Manson. If my dad had any money I 'm sure I could have used him for child cruelty.
