  • The Youngest Young 'Un to Sail Round the World

What a boy / man, just watched the documentary. Filled me with inspiration and respect for the youth of today - apart from .........

His snotty little wannabe girlfriend who dumped him by sat phone while he's on his tod in the middle of The Pacific Ocean - what a selfish scroat, sure she could have kept her prissy little mouth shut until he'd got home alive, but then again she did have a part in Chicago to wrestle with. My heart leapt though to find that she had kinda changed her mind just as he was returning home, surrounded by cameras with a bit of free champers to be had and some serious media coverage. He survived the Southern Ocean only to be ran aground on a despicable wench.

She was only 16, but so was Hitler when he was her age!

My sentiments exactly Ell, when she stepped aboard, he should have launched her over the port side.

The snotty little kid should have been in school getting an education like the rest of the kids. Just goes to show what can happen to kids who's parents have more money than sense. I would have more respect for the kid if he had went out and got a bit of work experience like some of today's youth.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

What you talkin' bout Willis, the lad or his lass. The young boy IMO had an education no school could have given him, I get the feeling he's probably a straight A type anyway

I couldn't believe it when she belled him (her text messaging system obviously wasn't working) I lost all interest in the rest of his triumph and just started running round the room shouting at my Mam

The film was just a way to make a few bob, It's a pity he bottled going round the horn. half a film could have been on the cards.

Yup The Horn bit seemed to be a bit glossed over, but so what. Give him a couple of years and he'll sail to Mars in his underpants

Ell, I was on about the boy. He should have been in school like all the other kids. Can you imagine any working class parent taking thier kid out of school for 157+ days. They would end up in court with a hefty fine or stuck in prison for a few months.

got to agree with the sentiments above, jesus can you imagine it if one of us mere mortals told school `little jonny` was off sailing the world, social services would be first to the door, child abuse and care issues, unaurtorised absence court hearing, look north east camping out with the papers on your front garden, no doubt that guy from seaton canoe would be interviewed by the media, get his thoughts, little jonny by this time has heard it all on the radio and thought boolarks to this and sends a text saying hes been captured by pirates off somalia and goes off to live in rio
