  • Hi Evereryone

Just like to say hi to everyone on here, joined about 3 weeks ago, after finding the forum by chance.

I like the forum, nice friendly etc.

Just started fishing 3 weeks ago, fished on and off when i was kid, teenager,so i am just starting again and got a lot to learn

    Bought a secondhand rod,century g5,and a abu 7000i and been enjoying myself,even though i ain't caught nothing yet hehe.

lot of reviews and info on the reel i have, but been struggling to find any reviews or info on my rod, anyone ever owned a g5 before that could let me know if i have got myself a decent rod please.

Anyways i will sure to be back with a massive grin when i get my 1st catch hehe

    Regards Paul

The century g5 is an excellent rod, it will cope with everything on the north east coast, ideal heavy ground rod for the rocks, shore etc, sadly they do not make the g5 anymore, look after it & never sell it, that's my opinion the best rod of all time (if you do sell it let me know & I will buy it, if it's in very good - excellent condition

Hi Paul and welcome to NESA. I have a G5 too but mine is the Supersport and not a real rock rod like yours. I use it for medium and smooth ground and although I have used it a few times on rough ground it's not really up to the job so I tend to use my rock rods for that. Still a great bit of kit though and I'm happy enough with it.

            Jim.
