Anyone out there in the "know" know what's going on with our regions road surfaces?

Most of North Tynesides roads are like a lunar landscape and if you're fortunate enough to live in Wallsend then you have the added pleasure of speed bumps as well as huge pot holes everywhere - can feel a stern letter to the new incumbant Mayor coming on methinks

Too busy with their expenses to worry about local issues perhaps?
    Ooh a new vid!

on the note of Leads Tone, I`ve just converted (due to bad weather an no fishing) £30 worth of scrap lead into 12oz weights ........... finished up with EXACTLY 100 , may have had a bit overrun lead from last time still in the pan so safe to say 96 leads to the £30 ...... bit gas, £2.50 worth of wires and a lot of effort ... but certainly worth the while at an all up cost of about 40p per weight .. As Keith mentioned previously its just good to do anyway .... at least that should cover me for the next say .......... 3 or 4 trips

Nice one Norman, so doing rough calcs, sounds like lead is still about a quid per kilo

It was 33p per kilo when I first started making sinkers about 4 years ago.
            Cheers, Keith.

Aye Keith, I buy it in £30 lumps/bags ... never know or take much interest in the weight cos you just get what you get ... but one things for sure It used to take two or sometimes 3 bags to carry £30 worth , now it`s only one bag and I can lift it myself !

whats next, nuts and bolts and old spark plugs ?

mind you as you pointed out in a post somewhere theres nothing like looking into a bucket of 100+ weights you`ve just cast yourself ......... magic

I love making leads, its sad but i do.

Always get my lead from a local scrappy as he a fisherman and sorts out all the clean new flashing for me.

Took me 7hrs to make 160 10oz leads last time, its slow on my burner but cost about £2 in fuel.

I ment to drop that pot off, will this week if am down.

Prob be down Thur if nothing more than to remove the 100s of shells off the boat roof

See if you can set fire to the bench like i did after i left a red hot mould on the wooden bit for about 5 mins

I have that same mould Keith 8oz-10oz and 12oz..only use the 10oz our days as never lose many 8oz leads as only use them for rough ground or lead heads
