  • Drain rodding

Not a bike subject of course.
    I need some advice.
The drain from my kitchen sink outlet to the main sewer is blocked, water backing up.
By chance after chatting to my neighbour he has loaned me some drain rods.
Now while when working on the rigs I have shoved retro jets down lots of pipes I have never used drain rods.
Basic question is how do I do it.
Which end do I start from, the outlet end of the pipe where the sink water falls into or the man hole cover end.
Really lost so any advice would be great.

Start from the manhole cover end as that is where the blockage is and should take the least effort to clear it.
Thats the way I did mine anyway and it cost nowt but time.( about 10mins)
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

if the pipes are not glued you can take them to bits , sometimes fluff are general crap gather and block the bends especially if they have been pushed on to far .

if blockage is in u bend under sink a plunger should do the trick, or you can unscrew u bend and clean crap out from there. if out side from manhole put the screw fitting 0n end of rods and push rods up using clockwise motion NEVER anti wise or yuo run risk of unscrewing rods in drain taking it easy as you dont jam it in bend. hope this does the trick for you
