  • Retro games

Many many years ago as lads we used to love arcade games like Gyrus , Galaga , Gorf etc.etc. and spent a lot of our time on a Saturday playing them in the arcades at Whitley Bay .

I've searched for them on the net and there are plenty of free game sites but they only play in small windows and have loads and loads of pop ups !!

Does anyone have a disc with games like these on ? or know of anywhere to buy them ?

Key word is EMULATOR - google said word and it will bring up all sorts of software app's to download

An emulator is basically a program that allows your PC to emulate the software bundle of the old systems IE Atari, Spectrum etc

I've downloaded Spectrum, Commodore and Mega Drive emulators in the past

Once you've done that you can download the software for the games you're after, these are usually linked to the sites you've downloaded the emulator from

Have a look around as there are hundreds to chose from - some good some bad

    Hope this helps
    Ooh a new vid!

my mate had an emulator disc loaded into his chipped x box and it had every old arcade game loaded onto it that i could remember .. top fun as a lad we used to collect old pop bottle's to take back to the shop and get 10p from them to play the space'is my fav game's were scramble , tank command (oooo 3d polygons) space invader's "dum dum dum dum dum", galaxion , battle command , frogger etc etc .. playing them now you realize how hard they were so as to get you to put more money in them .. good times though wagging off school to jump the metro down to whitley to spend your dinner money in the arcade's

As mentioned mate, Mame32 emulator and then you can either spend ages pulling individual roms down off the net or look somewhere like mininova.org and download entire packs of them. There's loads of emulators, we've got old arcade stuff, gameboy, old sega, nintendo, commodore, spectrum stuff etc etc. None of it is big downloads either bar the full packs of roms.

Is the mystery ship a big Cerd?
                        20 punder every 12th drift for 3 times then the 14th ?

I remember counting for 300 point mystery ships on the spacey's and clocking the machine until me fingers packed in (preferred buttons to joystick but a genius on both) - Got me my first big kiss of a proper lady in Dawlish after clocking a Mk1 machine.

Me mate Patty's mam owned the hippy shop in Vine Place Sunderland and we'd play the machine for nowt after the shop shut. Always left with a pocket full of joss sticks and loads of that minty breath stuff (Gold Spot) what was was that all about?
