lol lmao nice one,no really lads i was toying with the idea of mincing up some squid, maccy, crab etc and whatever else and sticking it into skins ,ergo bait sausages lol you could even inject the things with crab oil etc, give em a little prick (volunteers please)and whip em onto a hook ,not even sure if its an original idea ,but you could not arf save em up in the freezer :P
        cheers Bri

Done a similar thing meself, Bri.......but using the squid as the \"bait sausage\"..........bit of macky flesh, bit ragworm / lugworm, bit mussel, etc......all stuffed into a decapitated squid body and bound up with elastic, put on the hook.......more elastic.....then pricked in several places with the grip wires.

Sounds good, looks good, casts good............never had any fish with it though........lol

when fishing two rods i do the same as you Tony, but i only stuff the squid with mussell, this type of bait normally picks out the better sized fish, also i dont prick the squid with the grip wires i carefully slit the squid between the wraps of elastic to let the scent out more freely,a bait like this can easily stay in the water for 40mins without being washed out

might sound bizarre but sausage skins are water proof, so you have to prick em to get some scent going, at which point it would be likely to split and all fall out. The lads up in scotland use tubular finger bandage and a funnel.

they hoy anything they can lay their hands on in a blender - crabs, shellfish, worm, fish baits and blend it to a paste. leaving the shells on creates a binding agent to hold it together when they are ground up.

thread your finger bandage on the funnel and poke the mixture down the funnel with a wooden spoon handle/bit of dowel etc.

cause the bandage is cotton, if you wanted to soak it in oil then I guess it would absorb plenty and hold it a while in th water.

ties knots in yer sausages and freeze if you\'re making loads.

watched a program with matt hayes and jan porter fishing a boat in norway using what they called a sea sausage this was cut into chunks and used as hook bait - they got a fish a chuck with it. wonder if it will catch on.
give a man a fish and feed him for a day - teach the man to fish and feed him for life!!!!

Was there not someone up this way who was advertising something similar in the sea angling mags?
"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

Seen this done on Sky TV when guy was cod fishing in Norway. Not sure what his ingredients were but it probably didn\'t matter over there....probably catch with a bare hook!!

Hi You just found your butcher,,only trouble with sausage skins is they cost a fortune,,You can get them from a firm called Dalziels I thinf its in S/Shields somewere along the river ,the probalem you would have is filling them and also they have a very limmited shelf life. as 4 the old mincer forget it thers no such thing,, most butchers run them into the ground, they get the last ounce of life out of them, then buy a new one, keeping the old one for spares,, I should know my gaffer has about 6 of them lying around \'\'just in case\'\'\' there all tight bas**rds and wont part with a thing also your average mincer could not cope with fish skin,, it would jamm the mincing plate up,,,,,, Marks idea of a fingerstool bandage is probably a better idea, although I have tried it without success,,, Its a little like syicking a big black lug onto your hook it just slips down the shank of the hookand ends up in a pile on the bend of the hook,,even bait elastic did\'nt work.. for me amyway..I have a thought on it,, AKNOT AT THE BOTTOM ( sorry) fill it with the mixture a knot at the top tie it onto your main line and use it as an attracter,, then why not use it as a weight it might work???
