good luck with the moggy. I took a one in straight off the streets like, had it for years and the kids loved it, trouble was it used to love clawing carpets and totally destroyed every one in the hoose plus furniture, chair legs etc. then it got old and the vets bill was racking up. then it started ****ting, puking and ****ing on new carpets and to top it off cost me 90 notes to get it topped. had to totally redecorate some rooms which cost an arm and a leg but it was a canny cat

Good choice Tony, just make sure you get it used to the scratching post lol.
Love my Cats to bits. They are Ragdolls & are so laid back & never damage anything. Love Dogs too but got Cats when I was working as didn't think it right to leave a Puppy all day.

never seen the point of cats, wallsendo, you know you said your cat gets injections then a door to the big wide world? it just means it can go into peoples gardens / yards and crap where it wants. What is the point of them
we've always had dogs my whole life, though i'm not a particular dog lover, got a bedlington terrier, he's nice, but also being a terrier a micey little so and so, who we actually got for our daughter , who has since moved out for uni and left us with the dog.....
If i had to choose would have to be a dog not a cat, i mean at least you can take your dog for a walk, , what do you actually do with a cat? feed it then let it out to do what it wants?
also, as a dog owner i have to pick up my dogs crap (which i hate) why don't cat owners have to do that?
Interestingly though if you knock a cat over you're not required by law to stop or report it, but with a dog you are
i'd rather have a stuffed / singing salmon on the wall cheaper and a lot less bother than cats or dogs
