  • New Angler on the way!!

Our lass has just dropped the news that young angler number 3 is on the way! Good news all round because now:

    A. I\'ll celebrate with even more cans than usual tonight
    B. She\'ll not want to tag along this winter when I go fishing
    C. I\'ll be able to buy some more tackle with the excuse that it\'s for the bairn!

Seriously though I\'m chuffed to bits. Our lass is hoping for a girl which is fine with me, my eldest lassie outfishes me and the lad on a regular basis which gives me the chance to take the camera along AND get some pictures of fish (and she\'s the kiddie when it comes to unhooking eels!!)

And I\'m doing my bit to swell the NESA ranks

Congrats Rob...I took my oldest for a bit of night time winter fishin last year(he\'s 7) and it lashed it down so I manufactured him a poncho out of a bin bag.

I\'m hoping my youngest 2 have a bit more of an interest.

Congrats Rob, but just think of the extra bait you will have to dig/collect until they can get there own. Anybody taking their youngsters out and they catch let me know.

Cheers lads! I can see a pattern emerging here with the kids though.

My daughter (14) happily fishes all night, baits up and guts her catch herself. The son though, (8) whines on about the cold and ragworm, eats all the pies and empties the flasks.

I bought one of those beach shelters last year and now the excitement of \"camping out\" keeps him coming with us, he even managed to fall asleep in Terally Bay in his Action Man sleeping bag! ( a steep, stony beach in Luce Bay, SW Scotland)

Mind you, if you catch a crab or there\'s a rock pool full of shrimps and blennies, he\'s up and away with his little rod! I just need to nurture that hunter / gatherer instinct and a new member will be in the bag!!!
