A thankyou to all the kind citizens of the North East
My missus took my 7year old son, our sister in law sister and her neice to see Disney on Ice yesterday at the Metro Radio arena.
They took a detour to Ashington on the way home for a Maccy D's when she noticed the car started to overheat. A young man who was waiting for his lunch to be delivered in the car park duly assisted my missus and said he thought she would be ok to drive home as there was plenty fluid in the coolant tank. Unfortunately on the way back it started again so she pulled over between Ashington and Ellington on the coast road. Her sister phoned me and I duly phoned the AA as we're members. I was told we'd have to wait between 1 - 1 1/2 hours for help as they were really busy. This was around 3.20pm. A yound man pulled over to check if they were ok and looked at the engine to try and help, He was even phoning his dad for advice. A motorcyclist going the opposite direction turned around and came back to help and wouldn't leave until he was 100% sure they were going to be ok. A lady from Amble and her mum offered to drive my sister in law and the kids back to Alnwick, an RAC driver, turned around and came to help and only left when he was sure they were going to be dealt with. My sister in law received a text to say that the AA driver would be with them at 3.40pm even though they only had a rough description of where the car was. At 3.39pm the AA pulled up and got the car back on the road again by topping up the coolant and he escorted them all the way back to Lesbury.
All in all I would just like to thank everyone that stopped and helped and to say that the AA were great. The car is booked into the garage, and hopefully won't cost too much to sort
