Translation of the NUFC statement:

"There was a big row with KK. Its all over and he's not coming back. He's gone. However, in an effort to avoid paying him any compo, we have to make it seem like he resigned and we didn't sack him. So we now need to say that we think he's really great, we haven't sacked him, and we'd love him to continue being manager. Except we don't really mean this. But our lawyers tell us that we have to say it so that we can show it to the Employment Tribunal later when he tries to sue us for constructive dismissal. Sorry its taken so long to issue this statement, but our lawyers have spent all afternoon carefully writing this."

The official statement has been drafted by a lawyer. It denies Kev has been sacked because millions in contractual breach payments would then be due. It says how important Kev is to the club's future to prevent a constructive dismissal claim (to stop Kev saying the club left him no option but to go).

The club was perfectly content to allow speculaton today that Kev had walked, because that had no compensation implications. The lawyers swung into action when the media, prompted by friends of Kev, started talking about a sacking. The broadcasters are now falling over themselves to report the statement to avoid a libel action.

Tonight is the 1st time in my life i have not bothered watching the match when on tv and not interested in anything to do with the club.
