  • The old Nesa

It has been talked about before but i do really miss the old NESA, not sure if it was because the members were limited to a few or just we had people willing to arrange comps and litter picking, meet up's and bar nights out etc to name a few. If i remember right i was member number 38 when it first started.

Dont get me wrong it is still the best fishing chat site IMO but not a patch on what it used to be, i find myself posting less and less (yes i know that dont help any makes the site worse) and reading even less than i post, I think i may take a canny long break from the site and see if the passion to post returns.

p.s this is not in hope for a 100 "ow dont leave please stay replys" etc just my opinion of things of late.

I think the mod's do a cracking job on here and dont get much respect and no reward at all for running it.

I'd be more than willing to participate in any of the above, maybe I am guilty of not trying enough to arrange these sorts of events. I think I feel that way because I am one of the newer members and as such I feel like the oldies would be the ones to sort this stuff.

I think NESA is a cracking site, I have learnt a lot from being here and met some good lads, made some friends too who I have been fishing with many times. I have even developed a liking for going out on the boat since joining NESA - something I used to do very rarely.

Definitely a positive experience for me since joining here, I enjoy this forum more than others.

To be fair, when you take the job on thats just the nature of the beast and I'm sure the NESA mods will say the same.

    Anyway - cheers NESA
Lets have some more NESA meets

I know what you're saying Richie, it's a much bigger and broader site. Better in many ways but not as close knit as the smaller, original site.
I've made some good mates on here, been fishing in places I didn't know existed and had so much great advice.
        Long live NESA.
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

Out of the 6000 odd members there's only 1000 and odd active and a handful that post on a regular basis, usualy in the for sale section, rod builds etc. And out of the handful I would agree it's a bit clicky. Then there's the everything they say is gosphel crew lol. I suppose it happens on most forums and I'm sorry to say those who think this the best fishing forum on the net are looking through rose tinted specticles. It's an ok site, that's as far as I would go to say, just my opinion like.

Well then in your opinion what is the best fishing forum on the web? I have been on most of them I think and none are a patch on NESA. No rose tinted spectacles, just my experience. I think you get out what you put in. I post as much as I can, do reports and have shared my, albeit limited, knowledge where possible. In return I have been given loads of advice on where, how and when to fish. I have learned loads of new things and met some generous lovely guys. We have many guys who we go out with when we come down to the NE and have a great laugh. Without this site we would still be floundering about like total amateurs and catching little. Some would argue we still do!!

                      Thanks NESA!

I've just come back to the forum after a year or 2 out of fishing and I find it more engaging than before I left. Just my 2 pence.

As Mark says you get out what you put in to forums. On the whole NESA is probably the best fishing forum I've been on, apart from the chat section, I keep well away from that!

Think you'll find I help out where I can and as for reports, well I barely get the time to make rigs at times
