  • Better to live Down South?

Apparently we should all up sticks and move to the South East if we would like a better life and the chance to prosper...

What a load of ill conceived clap trap by pompous Southerners who've never ventured beyond the car park that is the M25

I've lived and worked all over the country and the North is by far a more attractive option. My mates girlfriend is an Ozzie and she's done the London thing for a few years and she much prefers the people up here...

...that said, the comment that Sunderland is beyond hope was pretty close to the mark
    Ooh a new vid!

It's all over the local news , what a story ,they reckon Sunderland is much poorer than Newcastle and its regeneration hasn't worked and the city has no future, shocking eh !!!

I have worked all over the country and have had to spend quite a bit of time in London. The only thing I have grew to love about London is " Leaving it". There is nowt better than getting on a train and heading oop north.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

I just get in the car and head out on the country roads around Northumberland, reminds me everytime why I've never had the urge to leave this area. I'm not a well travelled person by any means, but the places I have been to don't have the draw of this area.

Bollicks to this non news story - I object to this ignorant stereo typing of London and Londoners - I was welcomed into London with open arms, treated with kindness, respect and made many great friends both local and from around the world. Not once did I get a row or was I abused for where I came from or my birthplace used as a weapon against me. The only time I had to defend my regional honour was against some drunken geordie in a pub in Kent and boy did he catch some. (Oh and that time with the lad fresh from the war in Serbia)

went to London once for a day, never again. Let the southerners think it is awful up here, smokey chimney's, smeely factories, all sorts of heavy industries, and keep telling them it is, dont want those lot trampsing over our lovely beaches and woodlands.

the author of this so called report has admitted he has never even been to sunderland so how his report can be described as factual and informed is beyond me!

Maybe that proves his point about it being not worth it!

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

It is a total non story blown out of all proportions (but always good to get the North V South thing going before the Football season starts)...I think they were basing it on economic figures or something then drawing their own misguided conclusions...

I've heard similar phrases used about the sodjers
