  • tele's widescreen, LCD, PLASMA

after watching a couple of DVD's I made of my African adventure on my mates cinema sized televison screen while in Scotland, it has made me realise what I am missing with my old tele, which was actually given to me by my son when he left the RAF, wont tell you how long ago that was, and am thinking of getting another one. Anybody got any views on which are the best for value. have been reading some of the reviews but as normal they all differ so why not complicate matters more and ask you lot.

Like bob said pricematch is the way in fact pricematch themselves.
I looked in currys etc and chose the set then went home sorted a google search and took the results into the shop and they matched the best.
        Good luck mate

John Lewis price match (not online prices) and give a 5 year warranty.
              Cheers, Keith.

Obviously Bob's the one standing in front of the plasma, the other one's a bear (with a fish)

                      Good HD though.

Does Sky really do HD though, especially in sports? is it not pretend HD. It's probably real, the australian camera man was more than likley taking the **** out of me at the match.

just been looking at this one, and as somebody has already said john lewis five year gaurantee, the same model can be got cheaper but when you add a warranty on, way over the top. Going to have a look at Lintone now.

                          Al

i asked for info a while back and decided on a 42" plasma - it is perfect ,no drag on live football or any other sports and all other TV programes are really crystal clear

i was told off the bloke from curry`s, that up to 38" is a LCD - anything above must be a Plasma ,dont know how true it was ,but it has worked for what i bought - and also depends on the size of the room your putting it in

We've got a Hitachi 42" HD Plasma, had it a year and a half, can't fault it. Picture quality is stunning no matter where you sit in the room. Sound quality excellent, had fancied a tarty sound system but didn't need it. Got it wall mounted to free up space but it originally came with a fully motorised stand so you could rotate the screen using the remote if you had it on a normal telly cabinet.

BriH have got that little bit of info from the reviews on internet, although with progress things are leveling out. Another bit of info a Plasma tele uses twice the electricity of LCD. Cheers lads
