  • Metroland + Quasar 2000

For those that haven't followed the news, Metroland closes down tomorrow to be replaced by a new "Odeon" *spits on the floor* multiplex (fkn fix Pilgrim Street Odeon/Paramount ya basts!). Quasar 2000 shuts on the 23rd, not sure when Megabowl shuts but I'd guess the same time.

Been last week to Metroland and it's semi-stripped out already, only the rides left, with minimal staff - so the waltzer is more like a round-a-bout in the park and the staff have lost their will to live, don't blame them, place is dying with a slow death rattle than a heroic roar...

Quasar tonight with the kids and we got ripped - booked it a week ago for 4 of us, ended up bunged in with another family (who to be fair were lovely) and a young couple (also a riot), but we'd paid the full 3 sessions (1hr) the others had only paid for 40mins apparantly (2 sessions), we all got the same play time, ie the full hour which meant we paid 4 extra sessions when they didn't AND unlike other times we weren't told there were other players booked for the same time. We assumed we had a block solo booking not a joint/free-for-all slot. Was still great fun, but if the others had been teen's or chavs it could have been utter crap with my youngest being 8.

The times i went to Metroland with the Kids or walked through it there was never anyone in,i can seen the reasons for closing it on a pure business side of it,i rarely go to the Metro Centre at peak times so maybe it did get busy
    Cheers Alan...
