Brilliant - where were they taken Alan?

We saw very little out there but didn't visit any reserves

    Baboons a plenty
    Lots of birds
    A porky pine
    Ostriches
    Snakes and Shungululus

the hippos and fish eagle where taken at St Lucia, the monkeys drinking from our outside shower and Kudu at Cape Vidal, the bats where in an eve when we stopped for at a snack bar, the rest where taken in Hluhluwe game reserve, the elephants reagrdless of their size are ruddy hard to find. Still never seen a leoprad yet in my three visits, bit miffed when an Amercican woman saw one in the middle of the day, walking across the road as she entered the game reserve, but that is wildlife things just happen. As for baboons, they are everywhere

When I was in India we'd thought about a stay in a national park to try and see a tiger in the wild - chances are few and far between and the price meant we'd have to come home about a month earlier didn't do it in the end. There were lots of leopards lurking about in the mountains and the local dogs used to knock on your door at night with boxes of chocolates asking to come in for a while Never saw one though

Met this crazy little East German on an Island in the middle of nowhere who was one of the funniest people I've come across - travelling on his own just after the wall came down. We were talking Tigers and he said he'd been hanging round the edges of a reserve somewhere - too poor to pay to get in - he'd went for a stroll with his ancient Leica camera , when a huge Tiger sauntered across his path.

"I was not knowing who was the best scared"

He also came stumbling out of the jungle close to where we were staying once, after one one of his little missions, covered in leeches

"I was not knowing wether I'd have a enough of the blood left to make it back home"

He was an absolute belter - got his address but lost it

Aye - saw plenty of those lads - Sitting in an open Rondell(?) with an electric light bulb hanging from the middle. M6 for bats, I know they can navigate in the dark but you can't help ducking when a cat flies past your nut wearing leather wings! Castle lager and homemade beer flying all over the not - nearly dropped me Bratwurst

They can do all of that but choose not to Norman as they have there little claws full chasing moths around in the pitch dark.

They also have sonar up their noses and some turn into Ray Reardon's on a full moon

You may be onto something Norman - bats on sticks over the side of the boat with a little bat translator on board.

"Scrreeeee Screeeee Pip Pip Pippiddy Pip Bllleeeeeeeeeeeeep Scerrreeeeee"

                          "What - Fish all awa?"

                          "Screee Pip Bleep"

                            More photos to follow
