Well my wine inspired ebay purchases have worked out really well. I got the two Shimanos and both are in fantastic condition. Apart from a bit of rubbing on the lettering there is not a mark on either of them. Seem smooth as silk. I probably paid slightly over the odds for the Triton, but the (unintended) purchase of the Shimano TR2000LD for £41.01 is a total steal and I have still no idea, with 21 opposing bids, how I won it? Especially as I had been out bid in the high £80s for the last four!
Also sold my Penn and Diawa on Fisherman's Locker, so only cost me less than £25 inc postage to get the 2 Shimanos!
So with Lynn's TLD 25 ( a monster of a reel) and my baitrunner we now have four Shimanos. I'm not sure how Shimanos compare to other reels these days, but when I used to fish in my late teens and early 20s I remember being jealous of the older guys with their Shimanos and me with my cheap tat, as I was broke.
From those days on, I have always wanted Shimanos, now I have four and I feel like a tackle tart: Haha! I realise guys pay hundreds and hundreds of pounds these days for gear, but in my wee world, I am delighted.
Now I just need to catch some fish!
