    Body clock is screwed...

    It happens every Christmas or when off for an extended period

    Caused by late nights and even later lie ins...prob is I'm a day worker so on thursday morning it's back to normal...I know there are a lot of shift workers out there - any good remedies/hints/tips on getting your clock back on track?

    no tips, just get back to work. i have a natural body clock no matter what time i go to sleep i wake nearly always at 7.50am i havent used an alarm clock for over 15 years now

      Dunno,when i was at work always up early,around 6 and did 12 hour shifts 7 days a week so always in bed by 10.
      Now after having to give up work it is only after 6 years i find i can sleep till about 8 now.
      So the chances of sorting it in days is doubtful.

        As a shift worker, working continental shifts, 4 days on 4 days off consisting of 2 days of 12 hr shifts and 2 nights of 12 hr shifts I must agree with the other lads, that you never really get used to it, I liken my first two days off to being akin to jet lag, then just as you come round it all starts over again. so as Mark says...lol..just get back to work and in no time you feel like you've never been away...lol

          I've got flexi time with no core hours, so nah-nya ;-) Though to be fair I've always been a 7am starter and never really shift much from my "normal" hours, so it's a bit pointless.....

          The dogs wake us at 5.30am. Even during the holidays and at weekends. *******s. Try telling someone that you walk your dogs on Druridge Bay beach at 6am on a Saturday morning - no matter what the weather and have to use cap-lamps since it's the dead of winter. If they don't see owt wrong with that then they're probably sea-anglers and even more likely members here!

            I work flexi - stretchy time, as in, I go in (if I want) when I wake up , then after pondering around a while I decide whether I want to go home early or not (and it`s usually early after a couple of hours or so) then it`s relax while ............ BRRIIIINNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG oops theres that alarm, oh well dreaming can`t be all that bad.

            seriously, start about 7 - 7.15am and thats after a 45 minute drive, no breaks the day just merges into one ... then leave sometime after 5.00pm and thats often 7 or 8 pm. (Then another 45 min drive) ...... then eat then grouse LOL
            Still it`s surprising what you`ll to do to keep a girl in Fenders ..........

              Shift work ............shift work ............don't talk to me about shift work .............18 years and it's still a nightmare

                i work a 3 shift system consisting of 1 week 7-2, then 2-10, then the dreaded night shift of 10-7.

                the only way i found of getting a decent kip is following a good drink regardless of what shift im on. (even if the wife thinks drinking at 7.30 in the morning is disgusting, this my night time woman!!!!!)
