I may as well say it first...we were sh*te

Having said that I'm starting to feel that there is an element of Toon fans that are thick and unrealistic; who take all their sporting "views" from the back page of the Sun...

Why boo Gerrard? yes England lost - but he is one of the players that plays with his heart on his sleave...sheer stupidity and ignorance

And then there's the singing that everyone says is missing...."Newcastle Newcastle etc etc " is hardly original or "Toon, Toon..." ...when visiting fans come to us they are louder than we are and sing proper songs and get behind their team...we just start hurling abuse at them within five minutes coz things aren't going our way

The problem is that our attending fan base these days are either the illiterate masses who happily spend their giros buying into the mass religion that is Football (while reading the un-biased bible that is the Sun) or the middle class, uptight types who bring no atmosphere to the terraces

Then there's the fickleness of our fans "Oh Aye Viduka is a proper fat ****" seconds later after he's scored "aye i love Viduka - he's a proper player him like"...makes me sick

Andy Gray said today that second to being the England manager there's no harder job in football - he's not wrong
    Ooh a new vid!

we've got to give the manager a season, but his tactics are not exactly making me confident. I had £2 on liverpool 4-0, thats how good we are at the minute

Never a truer word said on this forum. I know as i have a retard sat on oneside of me that only comes to the game to whinge and call players. Form the first whistle to the last its Sams this, Smiths that. He can't be enjoying the game so why the f**k bother coming? Total Bell end. In my last seat in the lower milburn it was row after row of middle class that frowned upon anyone who cared enough to shout! Tossers.

        However...

Ive never seen Newcastle so hapless. Sam is obviously trying out things with the bigger picture in mind (I hope!) but the past 4 games newcastle have been lacking a plan A never mind a plan B. We are not playing as a team and with the exception of a couple of players we have no heart what so ever. If the opposing team score first we are done, heads down game over. We have not won a single game this season where the other team scores first. Thats now 1 point out of a possible 12.

For the time being we need a couple of wins, no matter how we play to get them. Sam needs to (IMO) get back to basics with a simple 442 which will include two of the most gifted young right and left wingers in the premier league. Milner AND N'Zogbia. Also, if possible, play everyone in their correct positions. If we have a fully fit left back, play him!! What will he think if a midfield player starts in his position ahead of him? Does nowt for team morale.

Did anyone see the shot today of the lad giving Big Sam an earful when bringing Milner on for N'Zogbia? I wonder if it is shown again tonight on MOD? I still think Sam is the right man, he needs a lot of time. Whether or not he gets it is another thing. The sad truth is that the opinionated monkeys that Wallsendo talks about make up a lot of our fanbase. The same fanbase Mr Ashley has been sat in for a couple games.

Only highlight of the day was the Mackem commentator on century pronouncing Yakubu as Yak-a-Boo. Priceless.

To be fair to Sam I cant see anything tactically wrong today at the outset (bearing in mind different people will have slightly differing views) but I think today was just a disaster on the individual performances ....... it wasn`t an off player who made mistakes it was 11 individuals (maybe 9) that lost it with lack lustre performance. (and no fight in their hearts)

I think I agree therefore with the majority of what Tony John and Andy have said. ..... Lets give Sam a chance

                  what !!!
the blokes a bluffer and a bottler , seems to me he has absolutely no will to go out and win a game , as silly as it soiunds.

his methods seems to suggest that we have a draw before the game starts so lets not lose it . lets forget the fact that our most succesful teams of years gone by have played attacking football which breeds confidence amongst players and fans and creates atmospheres and such .

i had to scrape myself out my pit after a 12hr niteshift to go and watch that trollop , again!
hoyin me ticket in , had enouhg.

                  cheers ,

On paper Newcastle have a cracking team but its the same old story,as Steve says its bad news all round for North East football, the atmosphere has been non excistant at St James Park for years now and not just yesterday, they along with all the other Premiership clubs have priced the working class man/women out of the stadiums generally speaking you'll get a mixture of families, couples and kids who probably have'nt had a drink, you'll find there is more atmosphere in your local than at the grounds,as a rule the away supporters always create the most noise, they've paid alot of money to travel probably had a few pints as well, theres a fair chance the away fans are probably some of the original "Terrace" singing clique from a few years back,i know lads both Sunderland and Newcastle fans who only go to away games,it costs them a fortune but you only get what you pay for,as you know (lol) theres a fair chance your team will get beat but they only go for the day out and have a laugh, sadly you dont see many happy faces with the home season ticket holders........Come to near the end of the season you'll say "you going to re-new your season ticket" "I'm not f######### going back there" strange thing is they must change there mind as they still go .
I can never get my head around people sitting there and slagging there team off week in week out regardless how well or badly they play, why bother going
                        Cheers Alan...
