  • Would you believe it!!!!!!!

Picked up a new car yesterday (no that big red bus is not my proper car), alright not a new new car but a newer car than the old car. Drove it 100 miles yesterday.......brill. Took Eileen and her mam to Eileens dads grave to put his poppy on, came back to her mams house for a cuppa and the bloke next door backed in to me (I was watching from the window). When I went out he said it was my fault for parking on the path. As he has a history of violence I used my best teaching tact....sarcasm...."so it's my fault then you to**er"

It's in the hands of the insurers but I can't catch my breath. Looking forward to fishing in a fortnight.....first time since August.

Bad crack David mate, I know how you feel though. Someone decided to remove my wing mirror last night, without checking I know that wont be cheap to put right either mate

had only replaced my car a few weeks earlier, was parked outside the house, and the new neighbours, they where just moving in, removal van reversed into my car knacking the bonnett and drove off without noticing. What a way to meet your new neighbours, excuse me your removal van has just knacked me car bonnett.

Just had a phone call from the mother in law - man next door wants your number so he can "sort things out" Mother in Law says we're not in and gets his day time number. Will ring tomorrow..........bet sarcasm beats toilet chains, especially with 150 5th year boys on my side (+Honda garage) hahaha

Hope it works out for you Dave ,I have a tale myself like many others ,got up one morning ,got in the car drove here and there , like you do ,went home again and as I walked around the car I noticed the passenger side was scratched starting with a light scratch on the wing across the front door then across the rear door to the point of buckeling it the onto the rear quater tearing into the metal and puncturing it ,I explained to the insurance that it had happened overnight and I hadn't a clue who could have done it,they repaired the car ,didn't touch my no claims and didn't even ask for the excess ,what a great company to deal with ,I'll not advertise them openly suffice to say I simply thought ..... OOOH YES.

Had similar myself, very frustrating when it's not your fault and worse when the car is just parked up. First one we had I came out of the house one day to find a big gash in the side of the car, fairly low down, concluded that it had to be one of two things - either the bin wagon or a glazier's van (with the bit sticking out of the side for carrying glass panes).
Second one was just laughable - mother-in-law reversed and hit the throttle instead of the brakes, I'd just fitted a full fibre-glass bodykit to the car a week earlier, including a front air-dam/bumper. Smashed the air-dam, both headlamps, indicators, front nose panel. I wasn't amused.

Told today that it's a new bumper needed. Bet that's expensive as it's one of those wrap around things with the holes cut out for the spots. Insurance seem alright about it though.....and it's not your lot Steve as they were far too expensive....OOOH NO
