  • Derby - overview...

I'll get the post match breakdown started...

A good result as far as the Toon were concerned...we were outclassed and outplayed for a lot of the match...

Sunderland were very good and quite rightly probably feel a bit gyped by the end result
    Ooh a new vid!

You probably summed up our season and maybe previous seasons in the prem, played alright, out battled the opposition, but just didn't have the class to finish it off!

I'm sorry to say, if we can't beat teams like that at home, we are doomed.

    ps.

Roy, Anthony Stokes needs a spell on loan, maybe up north where the dodgy keepers come from!
    Cheers, Keith.

Not long back from the match, we did enough to win easily, but if you don't put the ball in the net........

And whoever told Etuhu he is a footballer wants a good hiding, the man is a liability.

I know what you mean Tony, but at least he breaks up the play, even if he can't pick a pass to save his life. Hopefully Deano is not far from fitness and we might start to pick a few more points up. Big plus today to see Carlos back in action and last the whole game.
        Cheers, Keith.

right ffs lets get this out of the way. Sunderland outplayed us today from start to finish. They were the home team that cut our allocation to 3000 spectators. That meant you lot had 44 701 supporters cheering the lads on this afternoon (still not a sell out). You played with pride and passion and made newcastle look very average. If only Newcastle had of shown half as much passion i would of been happy. I will be the first to admit that you deserved the three points today. But...

I honestly believe if the toon had of played to their strengths today we would of di*ked on you lot.

Why did Newcastle leave their CAPTAIN Geremi on the bench today??? They left their left back Jose Enrique (£6.2m) on the bench and played Charlie N'Zogbia out of position at full back. Newcastle's new right back Habib Beye (Marseille captain of the past 3 years) started on the bench and we played Steven Taylor out of position at right back.?? Alan Smith is no centre midfield player even against Sunderland. To drop the captain to accomodate him is unbelievable! Such ridiculous tactics have cost us not only this game but the previous three we have lost.

The only explanation is that Big Sam is configuring his team for the new year when we lose said players to the african nations cup. But still....

Sunderland did play with bottle today but anyone who has watched the premier league for the past few years will realise this alone is not enough. Anyone remember Sheffield United last year?? Today Sunderland should of beat Newcastle but didn't. This to me shows exactly how mediocre you mackems are. Newcastle were there for the taking today but like the past few games you did not get what you deserved. That is relegation form in my book. People talk about a lack of quality....

Man of the match was easy Kenwyne Jones. The guy is a top class performer who should be plying his trade at a better club.

Newcastle might be in dire straights but are sitting reasonbly comfrtable in mid table. Sunderland however... Newcastle spent 10m net in the summer compared to Sunderlands 36 million.

Quality response Norman, if you believe BFS will still be in charge next season I truely admire your spirit and there's a 45lb cod out there with your name on it.
                        Cheers, Keith.

Geremi wasn't playin cos he is s..t! simple as that...Only ever been any good as a defender and even then not much cop. Why is he the captain??????????? Just my opinion but Kenwyne Jones aint all that!! Not a great first toutch. Ok he is scoring a few goals put playing for a better team?? in my opinion he is at the right team . I agree Charles is totally wasted at left back but Taylor has played and played well at right back in the past. As for Sam's tactics??? that about sums it up! Sunderland were the better team but only had the fighting spirit and not a lot of class! Today toon had neither!!

As for Alan Smith you would have won if it hadn't been for him making a couple of great blocks. But the question i want answered is........why buy Barton? should have had a red today and could still be banned! Turned up at a reserve game recently and would'nt even let the kids take his picture?????

Got to disagree, Geremi can still do it but is most effective in centre mid. The problem is he's bending backwards to accomodate messrs Smith and Barton. The latter is 5 games away from being his best and the former is and out and out striker. he's kidding himsel if he thinks any different! As for Big Sam...well only time will tell but i've not seen a 45lb cod in a while.

For me Sams best 11 at the minute would be:

                              Away.

                              Given

                              Beye Taylor Faye Enrique

                              Milner Geremi Barton(c) N'Zogbia

                              Owen Viduka

                              Home.

                              Given

                              Beye Taylor Faye Enrique

                              Milner Barton(c) N'Zogbia

                              Owen Viduka Martins

Smith would only get on if we had injuries/suspension or very poor performances upfront. Rozehnal would find himself unlucky to be left out, the minute Taylor starts playing like a donkey like he so often does then Rozy would be in.

When he comes in the January window Roanldinho will start on the bench
