        I'm looking at a Steel Stock catalogue, the nearest section I can see is 160 x 80 x 5mm thick. (to BS4848 Part 2).
        Cheers, Keith.

          just measured it...

whats its for is the trailer for t'other boat. Snipe trailer and I took off the snipe sprung hubs - big long bar of sprung steel with a hub at each end, and replace with indepsension units. the big long batr sat inside a U shaped steel crossmember... but, without the sprung bar there anymore the crossmember is bending, o I wanted to drop a piece of box section insed the U shaped section to restore its strength if the makes sense?

internal dimensions of the U shaped bit are 107mm by 50mm. the 50mm is less critical, as it could hang out the bottom, but would be nice to find something that would fit snuggle in the channel. length needed is 1500mm

failing all that, I might just replace the entire cross member! so that would be anything say 120mm x 60mm in section

            There's 100 x 50 in the catalogue

You can only buy this as a bar length (7.5m), the cost would be £61.70 delivered.

            Delivery 2 days

sounds perfect... anyone wanna buy 6m of box section!

how where does it get delivered?

I'm guessing it'll come on a big truck, whcih the chances of getting anywhere near my house are slim to say the least. the last big wagon that came up our track (16ton rigid) got stuck and was there for 4 days while a dry stone wall was dismantled for it to get back down!

A lad in our buying dept got the price Mark so I'm assuming it would have to be delivered to our place (Shields Rd, Byker).

There must be summit cheaper about.

Ring me ...I got loads here in the shed

Failing that if you go to carter steel at stockton it should be under 20 quid...get em to cut it to length and leave the leftover there.

If you want to bring the trailer over theres a decent selection of steel fab equipment here too Would be happy to help yah once I fixed my minor problem with the drive

                    Cheers
