    This is just for information to anyone that isnt in a contract with there ISP. Ive been with lot of ISP company's fair usage crap and slow speeds but this is true i know a few people now on this ISP. There totaly happy with it Check this out i think people Will be happy I know i am.

    like all isps, the fugures they quote regarding speeds are fairly acedemic really... the real figure that you should ask of an isp, and they don't like to publicise is contention ratio. with adsl everyone is sharing there connection with someone else somewhere - thats the contention ratio. If the isp claims they are providing you with 8meg but they have a high contention ration you ain't ever gonna get that speed.

    what all uk isps have done, and Oftel are currently leaning on them for it, is basically resell the same thing over and over again to more and more people. Same lines being shared by more people rather than pay for more lines, so if everyone else on your subnet is in bed, you might get 8 meg but highly unlikely as everyone leaves there 'puters on overnight to get those downloads complete

    in bandwidth terms the uk is a third world country, we currently rank about 79 in the world

        no, but I'm working on it!

        was in a hotel in mac recently and there were loads of open wireless networks floating around

        the airport facility in the mac OS X allows you to use several at once and bond them together a la Cisco router!
