The venerable Sea King ...been around for years since the Wessex's and the Hurricanes...and not due to leave service for another 10 years or so by all accounts...

I used to maintain Sea King mark IVs during my stint in the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm)...big smelly things that leak like a leaky things....fond memories tho
    Ooh a new vid!

That wasn't Saturday by any chance was it? I saw a Seaking passing over Seaton Sluice, not far offshore, heading up the coast...

        was the w/e before 5150.

Wallsendo the omens didn't look good when the winchman was giving us our pre flight saftey talk and noticed hydraulic fluid running down the O ring on the window.....We flew for 1 1/2 hours before we had to make a quick retreat to 202 as there was load of vibration from the tail section of the bird when we went into a hover over Dunstanburgh. Gutted coz we were going to do some training on winching from the water at Rumbling Kern.

        Great morning out tho.

not surprising really when you consider the design of the basic airframe is over 50 years old ...then they go and add all the various mods and tweaks to it LOL
