newsgroups are the game now if you can understand them the torrent sites are still okay and i have no problem getting what i want,as for clients they are all the same u torrent, bit torrent, bit tornado etc i have used them all in the past. limewire etc are okay if you want single tracks etc but can also have viruses hidden in the files.

Steve,
Download utorrent...as your download programme. Then what you use to actually find a specific torrent is up to you. Make sure your router ports are open using the speed checker. DO NOT use ports under 1600 as they are capped by many ISP's for downloading.
Utorrent has a search box linking to various torrent sites but you will find that its far easier to just use a google search along the lines of
"what u want" & the word torrent.
Anyone using liewire wants their head examining and there pc checked for viruses.
The site I use has just re opened membership so check your pm's...may take a day or so to get you an invite.
Cheers
Dave

To be honest mate the actual client doesnt matter (e,g azureus) when using torents...its the site that you get the torrent from...your best bet is to search for the torrent on a search engine such as google and just type in the name of the content you want to download (followed by the word torrent') then it will give you all the sites that you can get the torrent from.
But if you only want to download single items such as a song use limewire...a good tip is to download limewire pro from the basic limewire...this gives you the pro version for free.
Hope this is useful

get a news reader and get into usenet - over 30 years old now and still rocking! depending on who your isp is an what their newserver is like there's anything up 260,000 groups aound. I probably spend more time in usenet than the internet. It doesn't port the same was the internet does as its a completely seperate and self contained environment, so is hardly ever throttled back by isp routing, the stuff you download is coming straight from the back bone of the network, not peer to peer, so it'll go as fast as you're bandwidth can handle.
googling for torrents can be hitty missy as google takes longer to refresh and re-index the torrent sites than torrent trackers do
http://isohunt.com is one of the best trackers out there at the mo IMHO, and tracks most of the bigger torrent sites on an hourly basis
as an alternative to both usenet and bt try hotline, also been around for donkeys years just quietly getting on with it, more for downloading apps/software than music/movies thoughʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.
Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.
