Bartered with Virgin Media over my TV package last night...
Was paying £40.50 for the middle TV package, 2mb Broadband and Landline
Sky were offering the full sports package (no Setanta), TV and phone for £50 (£35 to Sky and £15 to BT for the line rental)
So I rang 'em up and said that I was considering moving coz I wanted all the sports and all the TV and considering the costs would be similar it would maybe be worth my while to jump ship....
They offered me two choices:
XL TV package, 2mb BB and the landline with Setanta for just £30 per month - thus saving me money
or...
XL TV package, 2mb BB and the landline with Setanta and SKY Sports for £47 per month...I took this option coz I've missed not being able to watch the Cricket and want to watch more Footy in the house
Granted I'm paying more but ordinarily these "extras" would have cost me nearly £70 per month for the lot
Just goes to show that you have to barter for your services these days to get the better deals
