Windy Week again....will the westerlies die down enough for the weekend

When is a westerly wind deemed "too strong"? at what MPH does it get too much?

LOL - does the wind ever cause issues in your line of work mate? IE ashes scatterings and the like.....has anyone had Auntie Nora blow back in their face?

Anything over about 18mph makes the drift difficult (but not impossible) but often its coupled with a North or South direction as well which sets up a bit of a swell at that speed ................ but this weekend is gonna be fine ............. flat seas for a change :0 I hope

When I see them wind speeds I can see me going out this weekend.

Got to agree with Norman about the 18MPH bit but I do tend to just go inshore and anchor up if the drift gets too fast.

                    Kieth,
I hope to get out sunday if you fancy it...but be warned..unlike Norman I go out at sensible o'clock ...not into these middle of the night starts.

                    Cheers
                    Dave.
