i am getting Sky+ on saturday ,and then putting the old box with the same package into the kitchen which is free ,so far so good ,when i asked about putting a cable from the dish into the bairns room ,Big Catchphrase noise of UuRGG UuRgg came back - yes they will do it ,but suprise suprise at a cost PER room

The Question i ask is - is it possible to connect direct from the dish with some form of additional connection (like i presume he will do on Saturday, via another cable) or is having 3 cables from one dish not possible (one already, one on saturday into the kitchen, one from dish into bedroom Unknown??) - the dish is next to the bairns room ,so if i can trunk into it ,this should not be that much hassle - i do not have the connections or coax cable but might be able to get them from him on the day if i ply him with tea and bacon sandwiches

If ya getting Sky+ he'll be putting a quad LNB on ya dish, you'll need 2 connections for ya sky+ and another for the normal box, so you'll have a spare . Doddle to do, you just need the cable and a F connector and some self amalgamating tape. The bloke might do it for you, just depends who turns up on the day. I asked the last engineer that came to ours to drill another hole through the wall for me, he wanted to charge me a tenner!! His excuse was he has to buy his own tools and he might knack his drill bit!
    Cheers, Keith.

Thanks for that keith - hopefully get a fitter that is in a good mood - even if he left some cable (about 15ft would be enough to route it to the bairns telly/digi box) - and the screw in adapter plugs ,but i am sure i will be able to them if i get a reet misery face

Thanks again on the name of connectors and tape etc etc

Bri, are you running the cable to the bairns room for a third sky box?
          Cheers, Keith.

You have to ring sky up to pair the card with the box, if you mean she can take card when you aren't watching downstairs.

You might be better getting a TV link and running a lead from her room to the box downstairs, then she can control the box from upstairs. Sky will sell you one but they aint cheap. They go for about a fiver on ebay.

I use a wireless one for the bairns room, think it cost about £40 but it means no cable to run. You can get them from maplins etc.
              Cheers, Keith.

                  Not sure about the smilies.

                  Try this:

Go in to "User CP" (top left of screen)

                  "Edit Oprions" (on left)

scroll right down to the bottom, under Misc. Options set it to
                  "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG"

Then click on "Save Changes" (very bottom of page)

ps Those Wireless senders are a doddle, just plug them in, not like setting wireless broadband or owt.

Banging head off wall at the minuet with Sky. We ordered the TV/Broadband/Phone package and nothings gone to plan except for the TV which does everything it says on the box

They said (at sign on the dotted line time) that during change over we would be without internet access for 2 hours max then we received a letter saying "oops, we meant up to 3 days from midnight on the activation day", which really means 4 days if you have any grey matter. We were 2 days without access.

Then came the letters saying that due to technical problems Sky cant provide us with a phone service which is something to do with it being on a BT line. The same line the broadband is coming through

Still not any wiser after mind boggling telephone calls and expecting to be billed 3 times for every call from Sky Pipex and BT
                      Regards, Graham
