  • any mechanics out there

    i have got a problem with my front side lights and back sidelights that dont work, also the fog light doesnt work ,no clock lights either ,any suggestions as its a fishing emergency ,carnt get out

    p.s checked fuses

      I aint a mechanic, but if it's not a fuse, it might be a dodgy relay or a bad earth.

                Someone posted an electrical question here in the viewpoint section and got some serious answers (correct I believe) http://www.flyforums.co.uk/index.php its a bit flyfishy but it may be worth a go. You'll have to register to post though. Go to a specialist electric forum and loads of responses will be from people trying to type the sound of teeth getting sucked, heads shaking in dispair before saying "It'll need a part"

                  does the engine run ok mate??? if so i'd say its just a fuse gone! if it was a altinator problem it would struggle to start, if even start it all. and in my experiance most earth faulds cause ligts to come on when there turned off.

                  As for checking the fault, what kind of car is it?

                        its a ford escort 1.4 ,and yes foggy is an option ,but that and another thing needs to be done for mot ,roll on winter ,but wheres me lights arrrrgghhhh

                            Does the fog light work off the same switch as the lights? might be the common factor.

                            When you say you've checked the fuse, have you tested it or just replaced it? maybe there's a short and the replacement is just blowing straight away.
