good riddance to another dead terrorist
its funny how the media and anyone wanting a bit of cheap PR have forgotten that the guy went to jail for bombing public places, killing heaps of women and children, executing those he didn't like by tying them to a lamp post, putting a tyre round their necks, filling it with petrol and setting it alight.
At his trial, he had pleaded guilty to 156 acts of public violence including mobilising terrorist bombing campaigns, which planted bombs in public places, including the Johannesburg railway station. Scores of innocent people, including women and children, were killed by Nelson Mandela’s MK terrorists in shopping centres and cinemas
Even amnesty international wouldn't touch him when he was locked up.
the man was a fecking terrorist by any definition of the word, right to the very end he refused to denounce the violence he was part of and never apologised for any of the lives he tookʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

Yes at one point in his life he was a terrorist - according to the oppressive and corrupt government that he opposed, I think that has to be taken into account also.
To a nation under racial oppression, he was a freedom fighter. Died a different man - 27 years in prison changed him. President Obama said it "His actions not only freed himself, but also his Jailor!" Many white South Africans are still in the mental jail of racialism. Mandela is a black man who changed the course of history right before our eyes. For those who support that oppressive corrupt white government in South Africa, and lived a life of luxury and privilege based on skin colour while 1000's of non-whites died in government incited township uprisings...forgive + be free?
Its a tough one and I agree that the media seem to turn a blind eye and jump on the band wagon, but I always like to think that everyone deserves a second chance....I think he did pretty well with his.Best shore catch 2016 - 7.5lb cod, Seaton Carew!

pik botha repeatedly offered him freedom if he would renounce violence - he refused
since his release he steadfastly refused to renounce the violence he committed, or apologise for it
to me that shows no redemption at all.
bombing a school? bombing a cinema? bombing shopping centres? 'executing' any one that crossed him by sticking a burning tyre round there necks?
oppressive regime or not, there can be no redemption for targeting women, children and innocent civilians. Look a little deeper into the oppression and corruption of the ANC since his release and its rise to power, and his background with the SACP.
freedom fighter? just like bin laden et al then?
no doubt he was the figure head for a lot of change, but not a single person in the media has got the balls to actually broadcast what he did - they'd rather propagate the 'wronged man' myth.
Lovely kind hearted Nelson
I wonder if the families of all those he killed, injured and tortured feel the same way. They will never have a voice so we will never knowʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

Have had to bite my lip since he died so as not to inflame the masses (must be getting old) but I agree with Mark...if people took the time to read the other side of his story you'd maybe think differently about how great a man he wasOoh a new vid!
