Some good points raised though and BEWARE , I have worked (And still do) in a hell of a lot of counties and believe me your \"Rights\" are VERY fragile indeed . The I.D card is the thin end of the wedge on a road to to a big brother state . And do NOT fall in to trap of it will not happen here , this is England , it can . The worrying thing about it all is , it\'s a \"Labour\" party that\'s doing it .

The people that fought for our rights must be turning in their bloody graves

I will not subscribe to an ID card. I will not carry one if legally obliged to and I will happily spend time in the chokey for this infringement on my rights. Blunkett is a fascist. As well as making them compulsory, if you read the white paper thats doing the rounds, they will not be free! you will have to pay for them yourelves, out of your own pocket and a figure of 70 quid has been mooted! 70 quid in to the company that will supply the mart card technology.

Smart cards with 8 meg of ram on board - thas a lot of data. Next step will be dna profiling to be held on the card!

the smart card technology they are proposing is based on a passive RF emmision. What this means is, that like the security tags in shops it can be detected. As it carries a unique ID it can be tracked. What we are talking here is ultimately a system where you might as well have a radio beacon strapped to your nut, broadcasting your movements 24/7.

9/11 is just an excuse, war on terror my arse. This is just the type of control that bin laden is fighting against.

I am innocent (mostly) and I have nothing to hide (occasionaly) so up yours tony and your nepotistic Junta. You wanna make me carry a card you\'ll have to get your nice peace keeping officers to kick me in the kidneys repeatedly using the \'he fell down the stairs whilst resisiting arrest\' scenario

Yes I\'m back off me hols, and no I didn\'t have a good time

      Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.
