    We all know what Cod tastes like...

    Ling as a relative species is "just a geet lang Cod"...does it taste the same?

    A stronger taste mate ,caught a few but I always give it away so to be honest I've not even tried it ,Kieth loves it and Mr.Charlton also ,although his must be of the donated variety

      `Deep fried in batter!!! better than manky tastless cod, but not as nice as flatties shallow fried in flour - yum yum!

          We get one or two cod, it does as a last resort when there's nowt else to eat

            ling has a far superior taste to cod, much sweeter and a much meatier texture, many anglers donate their ling to me as sixfoot has pointed out simply because they find it hard to fillett. Any donations greatly accepted.

              ling great for thai curries etc - they also make great pasties. MMMMMMMMM

                brush the skinned fillets with a drop of olive oil, sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper and lemon juice and bake for 20 mins, yum yum

                        Not bad at all, I had a go at filleting a dab yesterday, took your advice and just choped the heads off the other two .
