I've got the zippo ones and they're ****e the catalyst part that sits in the top keeps coming off and putting the thing out. Fluffy pockets are the way like.

Mind I didn't pay for mine I get them from work

to put them out you just pop the catalyst off , the Whitby warmer ones can burn upto 14 hours and last a very very long time . replacements are around £ 5 .

Have a look at the Boston 'S' handwarmer - battery lit and can be turned off

Had mine now for 3 years and still going but not sure about catalysts, will have to dig out the instruction manual and check if spares are available. - also have the zippo type and you can get the catalysts for them easy enough

Cannot find the manual for the 'S' Boston type so had a good look at the them and it looks like the burner is not changeable as the section that holds the burner looks as though its 'pressed' in place. However saying that, I have used mine extensivley over the past three years and they are still going strong. They burn hotter than the zippo and burn time is longer. I usually set them away before leaving and they are still going 12 hours later. I have both types and prefer the 'S' Boston over the zippo simply because they are easy to light (electronic) and can be turned off if need be by simply reversing the top section. They are expensive compared to the other types available but I would still buy another one if and when required. Cannot complain about the length of time and use I have had out of them.
