wonder why they're on about this now as the scots and irish boats have come to sheilds to fish for prawns for a good many years?

they're not happy down in hartlepool either

twin rigger are legally obliged to stay a minimum of 6 miles off, a lot of them have been coming way closer and have been towing right through some of the under 10's.

one even picked up the trawl of a smaller boat of blyth a couple of weeks back and towed the smaller boat under

the bigger heavier gear does a lot more damage than the smaller boats. recovery takes longer, so when they've buggered off back again in january its gonna be hard going for the small boats that fish here all year round. by the time the grounds have recovered it will be this time next year again and the twin riggers will be back

its not that new a problem, the under 10 have been unhappy with the twin riggers coming down here for years

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.
