Well we had a cracking weekend between us. We left home on Friday morning just after six and stopped near Worksop for some breakfast. We arrived at Sandringham right on time but at the wrong place lol, so after some quick directions we landed at the Stud about 15 minutes late to find Grahame (gas) waiting for us with some nice caps.

We set off around the Stud to have a look at the magnificent animals that are there and to a great explanation of the workings of the place by Graham. A tour of the old house gardens really set your mind working to think how it looked and worked more than a century ago.

My grandaughter was over the moon when she actually got to feed one of the horses by hand and never stopped giggling the whole time lol. Much to her mam and dads delight lol.

After that we headed to our accommodation where we got signed in and had our lunch and a nice pint of real ale, thank's for that Grahame it was very nice and unexpected. I would have loved to have tried a few more beers but we had the house to tour.

Back up to the house for a good look around and it was great too. The friendly staff were only too happy to answer any questions no matter how big or small (or strange lol). My grandaughter was amazed at how many fire places there were running through the house and was asking lots of questions. Grahame you were right about the gun room that was amazing mate

After that we headed off to the museum for a look and there were loads of very old vehicles and other things in there that kept us going untill about half four when we eventually had another sit down for a cup of tea and some crack where my grandaughter proceeded to keep everyone entertained with her laughter.

Back to the car and a short drive back to the Feathers so that everyone could have a short rest before our meal in the restaurant, except me as I was gagging for a pint and they had more real ales that I was yet to try lol. went back up to my room and woke up SWMBO who was absolutely shattered poor thing with all of the walking, had a shower and back down to the restaurant for a good meal and to try some draught Guinness and several pints of snakebite lol.

I was the last one off to bed at about eleven as I was starting to feel tired and lots more driving on Saturday. Up early and after breakfast headed back north. First we went over the Humber bridge which is always an impressive sight and then into York to the Cappadocia Turkish restaurant for our lunch which was once again excellent and then a very quick ride home from there .

The only thing that let us down over the whole weekend was the weather as there was a bit of a sea fret the whole time until just before we got to the Humber bridge coming home so it was a bit nippy. Apart from that everything was perfect. So once again, thank's to Grahame for a fantastic weekend from all five of us.

              Jim.
