Maybe so, but then again, mackems have no identity at all? Sunderland is Just known as that "small town in durham near Newcastle"
I've known "mackems" that got called Geordie and they said nowt to correct the person.

I was at the game and didn't see the horse punching incident at the time, i did see the smoke bombs / flares going into the disabled supporters section when it happened though, that wasn't nice.
As a Newcastle supporter when I saw that bloke punch the police horse I was disgusted, I thought he had set an awful example..............I mean for a start his feet were too far apart and he was standing square on, he should have been up on his toes with his hips turning in as he punched, also his left shoulder was low leaving his chin wide open to any counter punch.....very poor technique in my opinion
