It's never been a vintage era (in my lifetime) to watch Sunderland, started going in '78 as an 11 year old so missed out on the last trophy won. Few occasional highs, few trips to Wembley etc, we were even second top of the league one xmas, then skp got injured and the chairman with no ambition didn't sign cover.

I thought our days of worrying about relegation were over but sadly not, but then again is it better than mid table mediocrity, probably not lol.

I differ from you, I'd prefer to see Newcastle relegated every year.

Anyway, good craic with no insults etc
    Cheers, Keith.

who actually cares? apart from eastpierlad of course??

statistically Sunderland are not actually top of the league for empty seats. anyone who is happy to throw statistics about willy nilly really ought to look at all the facts first:

club capacity % of seats empty
      Wigan 6,479 (£4,197,744) 25,138 25.77%

      Aston Villa 8,467 (£6,965,800) 42,788 19.78%
      Sunderland 8,829 (£6,542,289) 49,000 18.01%
      West Brom 2,923 (£1,838,274) 26,500 11.00%

      Everton 3,520 (£3,103,232) 40,157 8.76%

      Southampton 2,193 (£1,987,274) 32,689 8.07%

      QPR 1,297 (£1,367,686) 18,439 7.03%
      Newcastle 2,730 (£2,282,280) 52,387 5.2%

      West Ham 1,046 (£1,142,755) 35,016 2.98%

      Man. City 1,095 (£1,081,860) 60,000 1.825%

you could probably factor in a whole heap of other factors as a control - average seat price, local economics etc, and I suspect Sunderland would be way down the list

Does Man City's ground hold 60,000? I thought it did but looked it up and read 48,000.
        Cheers, Keith.

keith , 60,000 is the capacity for music concerts apparently (according to google). would you really prefer us to be relegated than watch a derby? That may be because we have a better record in derbies.......

mark, the post was a bit tongue in cheek as a mackem had posted newcastle being at the top of the arrests league!

no abuse, no insults, no name calling, happy days, long may it continue!

I hate derby day, stomach churns from waking up in the morning till after the game, plus you're right, we usually get beat.

I might be wrong (again) but I don't think Gordon who posted the thread about arrests is a makem.

aye you're right, he's a mag, i hate it when that happens,

im nervous now for derby day, and weve got the bin-dippers before then, gut wrenching stuff.

ideally i'd like a reverse result of the last freak derby game, 0-3 !

but realistically i'd take a draw.

I think draw is likely but then as much as I hate to say it remy looks really dangerous when ever he gets the ball. He could be one to watch.

Big game for us, a win could kick start the season, a defeat will have the numptys calling for Poyet's head.

toon getting beat off anyone used to kill me, really hurt, especially by sunderland. But after keegan done a one and the team went into freefall I kind of got used to it. stopped going up a few year ago after eventually the realization of the pis* take hit home, ridiculous prices, shi* staff,
shi* beer, shi* grub etc etc.

remy looks even better in the flesh, puts cisse in the shade, he's hungry , quick and direct, looks the real deal, be nice to get him signed permanently.

                            15 days to go............

I know where you're coming from Gordon, I nearly didn't renew this season, it was a big decision for me, it's the only thing me and my lad do together. As it happens he's decided he'd rather be playing football when his matches clash.

The biggest joke is the players taking more home in a week than week earn in a year, referee's thinking they are the centre of attention, etc etc.
                              Cheers, Keith.
